Master Pipe and Structural Welding Program
The Master Pipe and Structural Welding Program at Arkansas Welding Academy is a career-focused, accredited welding program designed to equip you with the skills needed for success in an entry-level welding position. Through immersive, hands-on instruction including Stick Welding Courses, TIG Welding Courses, and Pipe Welding Training you'll gain real-world experience in both the welding booth and the classroom, with additional training in Blueprint Reading for Welders and Welding Safety Training.
As a journeyman welder, you'll learn to set up and operate equipment for all four major welding processes: GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW. You’ll also develop expertise in Carbon Steel Welding Techniques, Stainless Steel Welding, and Aluminum Welding Classes, preparing you for a wide range of roles in industries such as ship building, manufacturing, utilities, new construction, and shutdowns. With our hands-on approach, you'll be ready to hit the ground running on day one.
What you will learn
Through a combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on lab work, students will learn the fundamentals of welding, metallurgy, and rod angles across all welding positions. Our comprehensive training covers Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick Welding Courses), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG Welding Courses), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG Welding Courses), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding, with application on plate and pipe, in all positions and joint types with and without backing strips.
This course is a core part of our accredited welding programs, and includes critical skills taught in Pipe Welding Training, Structural Welding Training, and Carbon Steel Welding Techniques. Students will demonstrate proficiency through successful completion of visual inspections and destructive bend tests, preparing them for certification and job-readiness in fields like custom metal fabrication and new construction.

The successful graduate must have accomplished the following:
100 percent on Safety Test
Pass all visual weld inspections
Have twelve days or less of unexcused absences
75 percent or greater on all other tests
Pass all destructive bend tests
All graduates in good standing with Arkansas Welding Academy and financial aid providers will have earned job placement assistance and life-time brush-up
